FAQ's

Here are some questions asked by our customers.

Q: My daughter is only 2 but isn’t the most active of children. Will she be ok in the class or will it be too much for her?

A: Our under 3’s classes are very much designed to help the kids with basic skills such as co-ordination, balance, listening skills etc. We do have games where they run about but this is at their own pace and they have plenty opportunities for a rest.

Q: My son is only 5 but a wee bit overweight and, as a result, has very little confidence. He is a bit worried he’ll be left behind in all the games. Will he be ok to come along and join in?

A: Yes, he will be fine. We have kids of all shapes and sizes in our classes. We emphasise to the children that the games we play are not about who wins or comes last but about them trying their best while having fun doing so. We feel that this is a very important message to get across to all children and hopefully it will help them in their future lives.

Q: Do I have to pay for the block or can I pay weekly?

A: Our block payments are monthly and we encourage everyone to pay via this method. However, weekly payments are available but at a higher cost.

Q: Can I pay on the day?

A: Yes. We prefer that you pay when booking the class but you can take the option to pay on the day before the class starts.

Q: I have 2 children, is there a discount for this?

A: Yes. We offer the 2nd and 3rd siblings at 50% discount. The 4th sibling and above will be free. This applies whether they are booked in the same class or different classes.

Q: Do I have to book a space or can I just turn up on the day?

A: As class sizes are limited we encourage everyone to book a space. To avoid the disappointment of turning up and not getting a space we suggest you book online.

Q: I work shifts and can’t manage every week. Do you cater for people like me?

A: Yes we do. We appreciate that some people can’t manage every week due to work patterns. In these cases, we ask you to message us direct to make seperate arrangements.

Q: My son has just turned 3. Does he have to move up to the preschool class?

A: No. The age limits put on the classes are just a guide. If you feel your child is not ready to move up then we are happy for them to remain in their current class.

Q: What does my child have to wear?

A: We leave it up to you. There is no specific dress code for the classes. If the class is outside it may be best for them to come in warm clothing that they can always remove if they get too hot. 1st Class Kids Activity Club do sell kits for kids but this is totally optional.

Q: Do we have to take anything with us, e.g. snacks?

A: The classes only last aproximately 45 minutes so snacks are not needed. We suggest you bring plenty of water/juice for your little one. Snacks will be needed however for the camps as they usually last 2 to 3 hours and we stop for a snack break half way through. Again, you should supply plenty of water/juice for the kids.

Q: My daughter isn’t confident around others. I’m worried she won’t be able to cope with the crowds. How do you deal with this?

A: Many children that come along are the same. We try to make all new children welcome and often try to place them in a quieter class (if possible) to start with. You can contact us before booking to discuss any concerns you have regarding your child.

Q: My child has learning difficulties. Can they still attend your classes?

A: Yes. Our classes cater for all children regardless of age/ability/disability. We have started classes for children with ASN/Disabilities in several areas so this may be of interest to you.

Q: Do I have to stay with my son at the class or can I drop him off and pick him up at the end?

A: For the under 3’s all parents have to stay and get involved in the games. We generally find that parents stay for the preschool classes as well. This is great because we often get the parents involved. For the primary classes it is up to the parents if they want to stay. They are more than welcome to watch.

Q: I notice that you do ASN/Disability classes. My son is not good around crowds and I’m worried it would be too much for him. Do you limit the numbers for these classes?

A: That is a great question. Yes we generally limit the numbers to 10 children for our ASN classes. This may vary slightly depending on the size of the hall but 10 would be the average.
